Volbeat jumped on stage full of energy, ready to transmit it to the crowd, that, surprisingly or not, was already at a very high level, even in the evening of the last festival day!

A massive light setup covered half of the stage: during the concert, it moved up, forming an arch on top of the Danish band and brought the light show to the next level.

They kicked off the concert with The Mirror and the Ripper and its punchy rhythm and infectious chorus that made everyone sing along.

With great modern rock and metal music, powerful lights and maybe a few more beers than usual (last day of the festival – dear festival goer, you know how it is), the crowd just had the best time of their life.

During the festival I came across all types of characters and dressed up folk, but at this concert, I finally got closer to two peculiar guys, fully dressed up with yellow and blue clothes from a famous supermarket chain (it starts by L…, I don’t say more): literally, from the shoes to the cape to the hat, everything. I asked them the reason why and their reply was simple: “It is cheap”. Given the dust and the torn clothes, it was probably true that they went for the cheap thing, in one single copy.

While Michael Poulsen spoke to the folk in Danish and sang in English, I did my best to keep blending in and doing what had to be done: crowd surfing, an adrenaline-fueled experience that I will never forget.
